Details

Dom Pérignon 2008 Rosé is a radiant expression of Champagne's artistry. In the glass, it reveals a striking color that mirrors its brilliance. On the nose, a captivating bouquet bursts forth with the vibrant essence of raspberries and wild strawberries. These luscious fruit aromas are seamlessly complemented by persistent powdery notes of iris and violet, creating an alluring olfactory experience. With a bit of aeration, greener nuances gracefully emerge, evoking fragrances of privet, angelica, and the camphor tree. On the palate, this champagne delivers an initial sensation that is tactile, full-bodied, and incredibly silky, unfolding like a gentle caress. It gradually gains boldness as it evolves, with the signature acidity of the vintage beautifully interwoven into the structure of the Pinot Noir grapes. This acidity reverberates through the heart of the wine, adding vibrancy and energy. The wine's finish is a testament to its enduring character, redolent of peonies and the subtle spiciness of white pepper. The 2008 harvest was unique within a solar decade, marked by a challenging growing season. Spring and summer were characterized by gray skies and reduced warmth and light. However, the miracle of September, with its sun and winds, completely reversed the situation. Grapes ripened with unparalleled high-toned balance, resulting in a champagne that is nothing short of exceptional.

Robert Parker - 97 Points

"The 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé continues to drink brilliantly, exhibiting aromas of orange, red berries, pear, pastry, spices and some smoke with time in the glass. Full-bodied, charming, broad and fleshy, with pristine balance, it’s a seamless, complete and vinous Champagne of compelling purity and maturity."

Antonio Galloni - 97 Points

"The 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé is magnificent. Rich and deep in the glass, the 2008 offers up an exotic mélange of aromas and flavors. Sweet red cherry, mint, orange peel and rose petal all grace this beguiling beauty. Bright acids and a little less still red Pinot (21%) than in most recent editions yields a Rosé  that is delicate and light on its feet, with less of the vinous intensity that marked vintages such as 2006. There is a classic feeling of austerity in the 2018 that is mesmerizing. (Originally published in May 2021)"
