The Domaine Roulot 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is a captivating expression of Burgundian elegance and finesse. From vines that have weathered the years since 1942, this wine presents a harmonious and intense bouquet. Citrus lemon, fennel, mint, and orange zest intertwine gracefully, creating a symphony of aromas that captivate the senses. The palate is a showcase of vibrancy and tension, marked by a penetrating shard of orange peel from start to finish. Flamboyantly expressive yet exquisitely focused, it embodies the quintessence of Meursault Charmes. The wine's pale, bright silver-yellow color hints at its purity. As it unfolds on the palate, notes of lemon candy and hazelnut intertwine with charry, vanillin oak, creating a seductive aromatic profile. Rich, silky, and sweet, the wine's concentrated flavors of yellow peach and spices are enhanced by harmonious acidity, providing a punch that resonates through the finish. This Meursault Charmes is a masterpiece, delivering a resounding aftertaste that lingers with the promise of an outstanding vintage.

Robert Parker - 95 Points

"From vines planted way back in 1942, the 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes has a very harmonious, intense bouquet with citrus lemon, fennel, mint and orange zest that are all beautifully defined. The palate is vibrant and tense on the entry, a shard of orange peel that is really penetrating from start to finish. Extremely focused but quite flamboyant, this has everything you could ask for in a Meursault Charmes. This is simply fabulous even if it now does come with a hefty price tag."

Antonio Galloni - 93 Points

"Pale, bright silver-yellow color. Sexy aromas of lemon candy and hazelnut complicated by charry, vanillin oak. Rich, silky and sweet, but with lovely harmonious acidity giving punch to the highly concentrated flavors of yellow peach and spices. Conveys a sappy impression of dry extract. Really builds and resounds on the aftertaste. The crop level here was just 24 hectoliters per hectare, according to assistant winemaker Eric Pignal. An outstanding vintage for this bottling."
