Details

In the prestigious lineage of Duroche's wines, the 2018 Chambertin Clos-de-Beze emerges as a testament to the estate's commitment to excellence. This revered terroir predates even Chambertin itself, offering a wine that exudes seduction and subtlety in every sip. Its aromatic profile is a symphony of complexity, where the delicate fragrance of small black fruits intertwines with intricate spices, inviting the senses on a captivating journey. On the palate, the wine reveals its power with grace, maintaining an ethereal quality that dances between strength and elegance. Despite its potency, there is a remarkable sense of airiness and minerality that elevates the tasting experience to extraordinary heights. Born from the estate's oldest plot, where vines nearly a century old impart their wisdom, the 2018 Chambertin Clos-de-Beze embodies the essence of Burgundian grandeur, leaving a lasting impression that lingers on the palate and in the memory of all who encounter it.

Robert Parker - 96+ Points

"Like the Estournelles Saint-Jacques, Duroché's 2018 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru was a touch reduced on opening, but it opened up rapidly after a quick decant, unwinding to reveal a rich, carnal bouquet of dark berry fruit, smoked meats, black truffle, baking chocolate, plums and nori. Full-bodied, layered and elegantly muscular, it's deep and concentrated, with considerable reserves of fruit and structure. This will require the most patience of any wine in the portfolio, but it also offers the greatest potential rewards."

Antonio Galloni - (96-98) Points

"The 2018 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a profoundly complex bouquet that compels you to stop and contemplate the irresistible blend of red berry fruit, sous-bois, blood orange and crushed stone with fabulous delineation. The  medium-bodied palate delivers supple tannins and perfectly judged acidity. Quite Rousseau-like in style, with a classic, multidimensional, somehow "complete" finish. Outstanding. Just four barrels produced."
