Details

The Herb Lamb Vineyards 2007 HL Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautifully balanced wine that showcases the essence of Napa Valley's finest craftsmanship. With a solid core of dense fruit, it evokes a sense of classic elegance reminiscent of exceptional vintages like the 1997 and 1999. The nose is enchanting, offering a symphony of sweet, fruity tones highlighted by the presence of dense black fruits. This delightful combination of fruitiness and richness unfolds on the palate, reminiscent of a luscious black cherry pie paired with a decadent dark Baker's Chocolate bar. The wine already displays the velvety texture of well-integrated tannins, providing a full-bodied mouthfeel that exemplifies its impeccable balance and aging potential. In the mouth, the 2007 HL Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon gracefully embodies both beauty and opulence, akin to its 2005 predecessor but with even greater depth and complexity. The extraordinarily long finish leaves an enduring impression of spice, black and red fruits, and the essence of dense black licorice. Herb Lamb Vineyards 2007 promises a remarkable drinking experience.

Antonio Galloni - 92 Points

"Good deep ruby.  Aromas of black raspberry, licorice and menthol. Fat, sweet and lush, combining a chocolatey ripeness with a slightly medicinal quality. Finishes with a very fine dusting of tannins. I find this slightly roasted, and yet there's enough energy to maintain shape and verve. This is the final vintage for this bottling as this vineyard on phylloxera-affected AXR rootstock required replanting and the Lambs currently plan to keep all the fruit."
