The nose is enveloped in an enchanting bouquet of dried fruits, including raisins, figs, and dates, intertwined with hints of tobacco, leather, and exotic spices. On the palate, the wine showcases a remarkable harmony of flavors, with luscious notes of blackberry jam, dark cherry compote, and plum pudding, accompanied by layers of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a touch of espresso. The wine's velvety texture and smooth tannins provide a luxurious mouthfeel, while vibrant acidity adds brightness and freshness to the palate. The finish is long and lingering, leaving behind echoes of dried fruits and spices, inviting contemplation and reflection on the wine's enduring beauty and complexity. With its impeccable balance and graceful aging, Warre's 1977 Vintage Port is a true masterpiece of the genre, embodying the essence of refinement and sophistication.

Robert Parker - 92 Points

"This house makes rather restrained yet rich, flavorful vintage port and a very good tawny called Nimrod. Their vintage ports seem slow to develop, and while they never quite have the voluptuous richness of a Dow, Graham, or Fonseca, they have a unique mineral-scented character that gives them their own complexity and style. The 1977 is quite powerful, very deep and intense, particularly for Warre."
