Details

Bond's 2019 Vecina is a captivating expression of the Oakville terroir, nestled in the western foothills with beautifully terraced volcanic soil slopes. The 11-acre site enjoys cool morning sun due to its eastern exposure. This vintage, a consistent powerhouse since its introduction in the inaugural Bond release in 1999, stands out for its power, intensity, and savory character. The palate is graced by the signature blackberry fruit, accompanied by the intriguing interplay of wild forest floor and mineral nuances. The wine's rich color and intense aroma create an immersive experience, and the finishing taste is a testament to Vecina's enduring reputation for depth and complexity.

Robert Parker - 99 Points

"My pick of the 2019s from Bond is the 2019 Vecina, which originates from a terraced, east-facing vineyard near the Bond winery, in the western hills of Oakville. It offers tremendous complexity on the nose, with hints of bay leaf, dried sage and pine needles set against a core of ripe cherries and raspberries. In the mouth, it's silky and lush, with terrific length and vibrant fruit on the finish. Give it a few years of age, then drink it over the next two decades."

Antonio Galloni - 98 Points

"The 2019 Vecina is a dense, explosive wine that also reflects a move towards greater freshness and energy in the Bond wines. There's so much to the 2019, but it clearly is going to need a few years in bottle to be at its best. Dark red-toned fruit, cedar, tobacco and expressive savory notes suggest a bright future lies ahead."
