Details

Domaine Fourrier's 2013 Chambertin, with its at least 20 years of age, showcases a mesmerizing deep red color that speaks to its maturity. The nose reveals a tapestry of aromas, where raspberry, rose petal, white pepper, red licorice, and mint intertwine with remarkable complexity. A symphony of aromas unfolds, featuring notes of ripe raspberry, delicate rose petal, subtle white pepper, red licorice, and refreshing mint. On the palate, this wine exhibits a remarkable balance between silkiness and precision, showcasing exceptional intensity without overwhelming heaviness. Despite its maturation, it maintains a youthful vigor, with each sip revealing a nuanced expression of Chambertin's terroir. The finish is remarkably long and uplifting, characterized by a subtle saline quality that accentuates its classic dryness. This Chambertin from Domaine Fourrier is a true testament to the artistry and finesse of Burgundian winemaking.

Antonio Galloni - (93-96) Points

"Bright, deep red. Reticent but highly complex scents of raspberry, rose petal, white pepper, red licorice and mint. At once silky and sharply delineated, conveying outstanding intensity without any undue weight. Utterly seamless Chambertin if a bit youthfully linear today. The very long, rising finish is lightly saline and classically dry. Fourrier told me he has no plans to produce more than 30% as much négociant wine as domain wine in future years."
