Details

Domaine Roumier's 2014 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru exhibits a captivating bouquet characterized by fragrant floral notes, including hints of violet and blueberry, intertwined with subtle undertones of wet limestone and zesty blood orange. Its color is a deep, dark red, enticing the senses from the moment it is poured. On the palate, this wine reveals impeccable structure and precision, reflective of the vintage's cooler character. A driving acidity maintains freshness, while superb minerality adds complexity to the long, mineral-laden finish. Despite its strictness, there is a sense of harmony and balance, with tight-grained tannins providing a seamless texture. Dark berry, spice, and violet flavors dance on the palate, supported by lively acidity and a touch of woodsmoke that adds depth and intrigue. Overall, this is a wine of remarkable finesse and elegance, showcasing the true essence of Bonnes Mares terroir and Domaine Roumier's exceptional winemaking prowess.

Robert Parker - (95-97) Points

"The 2014 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a fragrant, floral bouquet with touches of blueberry, violet, wet limestone and effervescent blood orange. There is simply wonderful delineation here. The palate is very well structured, linear and strict in accordance with the vintage, driving acidity here maintaining the freshness with superb minerality on the finish. Oh yes. Yes. Yes. Yes."

Antonio Galloni - 95 Points

"Dark red. A sexy hint of woodsmoke complements sweet scents of cherry liqueur and purple berries. Tight-grained and fine, but with terrific inner-mouth lift to its dark berry, spice and violet flavors. Wonderfully juicy, lively wine with a light touch. Not a fleshy powerhouse, and not showing the obvious mineral structure today of the Ruchottes-Chambertin, but this utterly seamless wine is richer and fruitier. The noble tannins are almost invisible today and yet the finish boasts terrific thrust. This knockout will need a solid decade to approach maturity."
