Louis Jadot's 2018 Montrachet is a testament to the unparalleled grandeur of this iconic terroir. Radiating a brilliant golden hue, it beckons with a seductive aroma that intertwines the essence of ripe orchard fruits, including luscious peaches and crisp golden apples, with delicate hints of toasted almonds and a whisper of vanilla spice. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious blend of opulence and precision, with a luxurious, full-bodied texture balanced by a lively acidity that dances across the tongue. Flavors of juicy citrus, creamy lemon curd, and subtle nuances of hazelnut unfold gracefully, leading to a finish that is both enduring and sublime. This Montrachet embodies the essence of excellence, showcasing the mastery of Louis Jadot and the incomparable character of this renowned vineyard.

Robert Parker - (93-95) Points

"There are nine barrels of the 2018 Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot), a broad-shouldered, powerful wine that offers up aromas of pear, white flowers, buttered citrus and warm bread. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with a rounded, muscular profile and a long, resonant finish."

Antonio Galloni - (92-94) Points

"The 2018 Montrachet Grand Cru really delivers on the nose this year, featuring intense, mineral-rich citrus fruit with subtle scents of lemon thyme, fennel and crushed chalk, imbued with superb delineation. The palate is packed with weight and density, as you would expect, although the wood feels a little conspicuous and slightly occludes the terroir expression at the moment. [Note that Frédéric Barnier told me that this came from a one-year barrel but the final blend will have around one-third new oak.] At the moment, based on these samples, I prefer the Chevalier-Montrachet’s tension and precision by direct comparison. This is a lovely Montrachet, but it doesn’t quite deliver that all-important knockout punch."
