In the realm of Burgundy's esteemed Côte d’Or, Pierre Damoy's 2017 Chambertin stands as a testament to the legacy of his family's estate, which he inherited from his uncle, Jacque Damoy, in 1992. This profound wine originates from one of Burgundy's most revered terroirs, cultivated by Pierre's great-great-grandfather, Julien Damoy, and encompasses 1.19 acres of illustrious vineyards. With a commitment to revitalizing the estate's esteemed holdings, Pierre has transformed Domaine Pierre Damoy into a beacon of excellence within Gevrey-Chambertin. The wine reveals itself in a deep ruby hue, heralding the sensory journey to come. On the nose, enticing aromas of spiced blue and red fruit intertwine with earthy undertones and delicate hints of violets, setting the stage for a captivating experience. The palate is a revelation of ripe raspberry and blueberry, accented by notes of mocha, exotic spices, and a profound minerality that adds depth and complexity. With its muscular structure and impressive intensity, Pierre Damoy's 2017 Chambertin culminates in a powerful and enduring finish, leaving an indelible impression of Burgundian grandeur.

Antonio Galloni - (91-94+) Points

"Damoy's 2013 Chambertin comes across as decidedly wild and powerful in style. Juicy black cherries, mint, sage, lavender and violets flesh out as the 2013 shows off its breadth and density. Today, the Chambertin is quite raw, as the malos aren't quite finished. I suspect the 2013 will be quite a bit more complete and harmonious in a few months, once the elements meld together further. Still, the 2013 is impressive just the same."
