Its appearance is captivating, displaying a deep garnet hue that hints at the richness within. On the nose, it unveils a complex bouquet of red and black fruits, infused with delicate floral notes and subtle hints of spice. The palate is a symphony of flavors, with layers of ripe berries, cherries, and plums interwoven with nuances of earth, forest floor, and a touch of savory herbs. Velvety smooth tannins provide structure and balance, while vibrant acidity adds freshness and lift. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and sophistication. Robert Parker - (95-97) Points

"The 2013 Clos de la Roche Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, from vines planted in 1905, has an inviting, delineated bouquet with vibrant wild strawberry, raspberry preserve and mineral notes. The palate has great tension – so suave and poised with superb symmetry and an effortless finish that I don’t think the Clos Saint Denis has at the moment. Laurent Ponsot did not disguise his enthusiasm for this Grand Cru and I could understand why."

Antonio Galloni - 91 Points

"The 2013 Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru takes time to unfold on the nose, mainly red fruit, tertiary, with touches of orange rind, subtle estuarine scents and Japanese wakame. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, fresh with a bitter-edged opening. The impressive depth and almost obdurate tannic finish make me wonder whether it is proportionate to the fruit concentration. Maybe afford this a little longer?"
