Château Rouget 2014 is a wine of great character and charm. Its color is a deep and inviting ruby, drawing the eye with its vibrancy. On the nose, it displays a captivating bouquet with a harmonious blend of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, intertwined with subtle earthy and floral notes. Delicate hints of spice and oak add complexity and depth. On the palate, this wine showcases a medium to full body with a velvety texture. Ripe fruit flavors persist, accompanied by a touch of cocoa and a hint of licorice. The tannins are well-integrated, providing structure and a firm backbone. The finish is smooth and lingering, leaving a pleasant and satisfying aftertaste. Château Rouget 2014 is a refined and well-balanced wine that showcases the terroir and craftsmanship of the estate.

Robert Parker - 91 Points

"The 2014 Rouget was memorable, extremely rich and opulent when I originally tasted it from barrel. Now in bottle, it has retained that brash and ostentatious persona with intense oyster-shell tinged red fruit that really pack a punch compared to some of its more demure brethren. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive density, a muscular Rouget at first but give it time in the glass and you start to see more of its nuances and elegance. Hopefully time will temper the aromatics and if so, this will be a very worthy Pomerol. My only caveat is that the wood tannins are still conspicuous on the finish and they do need to be subsumed."
